Personal Statement
My name is Nick Tedesco. I’m a first baseman who is 19 years old (as of 5/1/17), 6’2” tall, 225lbs, and I bat & throw right handed. I transferred to NYIT (New York Institute of Technology) so that I can play for the Division I NYIT Bears Baseball Team in 2017. I transferred from Hofstra University (Dean’s List), where I was a member of the Hofstra University Pride Division I Baseball team (“Red-shirted” during my freshman season).

A member of the 2016 Hofstra University Division I Baseball team…Earned two varsity letters in baseball at Sachem East High School in Farmingville, New York as a First Baseman…Named to all-league team as a senior after compiling a .450 average…Named to Newsday’s Class of 2015 Top 110 Baseball players on Long Island…Named to the Blue Chip Top Prospects List for 2015 graduates…Named to Baseball Player Magazine’s Top 100 List…Participated in the International Power Showcase High School Home Run Derby at Marlins Park in Miami, Florida (2015 & 2014) and won the Humanitarian Award for their Home Runs that Help Program…Attended the New Balance Area Code Game Tryouts and was selected as the New Balance Game Changer Award Winner ($2,500 worth of New Balance equipment was donated to the Miracle Baseball League of Long Island/League of YES)…Winner of the Miracle Baseball League (League of YES) Leader of Tomorrow Award and was chosen as the Sachem East Baseball Tim Crowley Memorial Scholarship Recipient…Attended spring training with the New York Yankees in Tampa, Florida, the past four seasons with the Hank Steinbrenner sponsored travel baseball team (Hanks Yanks)…Was the recipient of the Hanks Yanks Presidential Service Award for performance on and off the field…Was the first-ever recipient of both the Richard Becher Memorial Foundation Scholarship and the Thomas Cutinella Memorial Scholarship…Was also a recipient of the Ed Rall Memorial (SYAG Baseball) Scholarship…Member of the National, Business, History and Science Honor Societies…President of the Business Honor Society…Earned the President's Volunteer Gold & Silver Service Award for community service.
